New Challenges to Research in the History of Chinese Science
Yi-long Huang /The field of the history of Chinese science has developed over nearly a century and has been gradually recognized as an independent discipline. More and more institutes or research centers are founded in universities. However, this field is facing some bottlenecks in further development. The author tries to suggest in this article some possible perspectives for future research under the limits of personal knowledge and subjective opinion. In addition to deepening traditional research topics, the author proposes through some examples to pursue studies that can cross the frontiers of disciplines and countries. To gain more recognition and support from society, we also need to encourage studies on STS (Science, Technology and Society).
